Pluton™: Revolutionising Aviation Testing for a Sustainable Future
The aviation industry, one of the fastest-growing contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, is on track to account for 25-50% of the climate impact by 2050. As the demand for air travel continues to rise, so do its detrimental effects on the environment. Immediate and innovative solutions are required to curb emissions and steer the aviation industry towards a sustainable future.
Hydrogen-electric powered aircraft have emerged, driving this transformation.
Testing novel Hydrogen-electric power plants requires both innovation and seasoned experience, especially when working towards airworthiness certification. Spherea, with an unrivalled track record and a suite of proven and novel products, offers Pluton™ power supply system solves the ground-based test platform power need.
Pluton™ has been adopted as the power supply solution by First Tier Airframers and Hydrogen-electric Propulsion System developers. It enables both power supply functionality for electric propulsion equipment, and surrogate power supply simulation. These qualities ensure that a hydrogen-electric propulsion system can be developed and tested in a controlled environment. Pluton™, furthermore, can be readily used for battery emulation.
When Pluton™ is coupled with Spherea’s U-TEST® software platform, the possibilities extend to verification, validation and integration of propulsion system test benches to simulate the operational environment of the system under test (a component, computer or complete system). U-Test®, has advanced data acquisition system capability, including importing digital models to mimic various situations and environments for comprehensive data collection.
Pluton™ is a Bi-directional, AC-DC power supply system with high accuracy and response times, modular in nature which can grow up to 2MW, with industry-leading small form factor.
